DC Memoirs: A Look at Sport Mart

It’s Throwback Tuesday of DC Memoirs history of way back when. Check out this photo of Sport Mart that once resided at 1410 New York Avenue, NW in 1923.

Looking at the street view or the map, this place had to be somewhere close to the Camille’s Sidewalk Café.  The architecture of the building seemed to have been updated throughout the years.

Old Town Open House Weekend in Alexandria, VA

Photo of  414 Oronoco: Photo Courtesy of Realtor
Alexandria, VA is known for its historic center, Old Town. Old Town, which I truly adore, has a high concentration of boutiques, restaurants, antique shops, and theaters. Old Town holds its own by providing residents, future residents, and tourist the Potomac River Waterfront, the Torpedo Factory Art Center, and of course a stroll on the free King Street Trolley. The neighborhood seems to carry forward the ‘Old Town’ history feel dating back 100 years plus preserving some its historic façade.
This week’s edition of …
