Northeast is a region of Washington that seems to be the city’s next frontier of residential and commercial development.  Comprised of neighborhoods like Brookland, Trinidad, and the ever-evolving Atlas District, the Northeast quadrant is primed to bust out.
Many are beginning to be drawn to Northeast for the chance to live in DC without paying prices found in Northwest.  While these people have generally flocked to the suburbs of Virginia in the past, Northeast is developing more and more of a community following.

Brookland Neighborhood in NE Adding New Constructions at a Rapid Rate

Michelle Lerner of UrbanTurf wrote an article yesterday about the expansion of the Brookland neighborhood in NE.  The Brookland area, which shares the community and Metro station stop with Catholic University, was dubbed “Little Rome” because of its religious connection.  Now, though, Brookland is becoming an artistic community, and will soon be filled with DC condo and DC loft residents who long to live in the city but not pay the big bucks for a downtown NW property.
