It’s been no secret that real estate people think that the nation’s capital and its surrounding areas have suffered significantly less housing market-wise from the recession than other major American metropolises.

Today ground will be broken on a new Rhode Island Avenue development that will feature residences, retail, and a garage, according to the DC Metrocentic blog.
The development, which will cost $107 million, is being funded by the city of D.C. as well as the Urban Atlantic and A&R Development companies.
