DC Condos

There’s a fun little write-up on We Love DC about how to move into a new home in the District.  Tom Bridge, the writer of the article, explains the trials and tribulations he and his wife have experienced during their move into DC.
Bridge writes that there are a number of things one should know regarding switching homes in the Capital City.
“My wife and I are in the process of handling a number of niggling little tasks related to our impending move into the District,” Bridge writes. “And this short post …

Amtrak will offer free wireless internet service on 20 high-speed Acela express trains.
“The service is free for now, and available to both business and first class passengers on all 20 Acela trains,”  Jeff Clabaugh of the Washington Business Journal wrote yesterday.  ”Amtrak says it will decide whether to charge for the Wi-Fi service after an introductory period, and base its decision on customer demand and system performance.”
In addition to the trains, the free wireless service will also be offered at numerous stations.  Washington, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Boston, New York and Providence, …

DC Condos

While I believe that most DC residents are generally relatively polite and nice, we all have our nasty days. We have days when we get in trouble with the boss, days when we get a fat bill from Pepco, and days when we get screwed by the Metro.

On these days, even the nicest of DC residents can turn evil, a sort of Jekyll and Hyde-esque transformation.  It’s on these days that car horns blare in the streets, doors to coffee shops aren’t held open, and seats on the train aren’t surrendered …

Exciting news for us here at CondoDomain DC and DC CondoLoft.  We were just featured on a blog by the “FromGirltoGirl” blog.  FromGirltoGirl is a local DC Metro lifestyle blog.

Writer Briana Booker details the history of CondoDomain and its leap to the District.
“Condo Domain is an online real estate brokerage founded in Boston in 2005 by Anthony Longo, technology guru,” Booker writes. “Longo gave a new and unique twist to the real estate search by combining online social media with much needed information on location and residential pricing. DC Condominiums

Just read an interesting story by Michelle Lerner of UrbanTurf from earlier this week.  Lerner wrote about the increase of DC residents over the past year, and how that might be related to DC’s education system.
“The steady exodus of families from DC to the suburbs for the promise of better schools may be slowing,” Lerner wrote at the beginning of her piece.  ”Anecdotal and hard evidence suggest that more families are opting to stay in DC and send their kids to public schools rather than retreat to the suburbs.”
The statistics …

NoMa DC Condominiums

The NoMa neighborhood is getting more additions.  According to Missy Frederick of the Washington Business Journal, the newcomers will include more places to eat, as well the area’s first full-service bank.
NoMa, which stands for North Of Massachusetts Avenue, is a community that continues to grow.  Just north of Capitol Hill and Union Station, NoMa is a former industrial neighborhood that is changing quickly.  Now, tons of state-of-the-art DC condominiums and apartments are sprouting up all over NoMa, as well as new businesses.

I Survived Snowmageddon

Want to ALWAYS remember this winter and the ridiculous amount of snow that has fallen on our great city?  For some reason, I think that most of you don’t, but…if you do want to, this is definitely for you.
ONE VS MANY, a local clothing and apparel company has designed this “I Survived Snowmaggedon” T-Shirt. It’s a pretty cool design:

The t-shirts are being sold for $24, with a portion of the proceeds going to SOME (So Others Might Eat), a non-profit organization that provides food, clothing, and health-care services to the …

Arlington Condos

I received an email yesterday from our CondoDomain DC City Vice President and Broker Anna Zillow that contained some really cool stuff.  I wasn’t surprised, Anna’s got all the answers—especially when it comes to DC Condominiums.  Check out these stunning photos taken from the sky during the Blizzard by U.S. Park Police Rescue Technician, Paramedic Sergeant Klebander.  After seeing them, I think it’s safe to say if the whole Park Police thing doesn’t work out for Sergeant Klebander, he’ll be able to make a lot of money as a photographer.
ARLINGTON …

Top Chef DC DC Real Estate

Ah the DC reality TV show rumor mill is churning again, but this time, it’s something I think everyone in the city would really dig.  According to Kate Nerenberg of the Washingtonian.com Best Bites Blog, Top Chef, the Bravo series that’s captivated the hearts and minds of thousands(well, maybe just me), could be coming to our city to film the 7th season.
DC Metro already has very strong ties already to Top Chef.  Here are some of the connections to the area:

Brian Voltaggio, whose brother Michael won the crown of Top …
