All Eyes on Washington: Where to Watch Obama’s State of the Union

Tonight’s State of the Union speech by President Obama will be sure to capture the eyes and ears of the nation.  DC residents, though, often treat this speech as a sort of sporting event.  Who can blame us either? Even with Obama likely to talk about the poor state of our economy, anything would be better than watching the Redskins this season, right?  (By the way: That’s why I’m a Raven fan).

Some examples as to how serious locals take the speech?  The Huffington Post has created a drinking game for the speech, for users to play during the oratory.

Where in DC will you watch the State of the Union?

Some writers on the site are referring to it as “The Super Bowl of Politics”.   We Love DC has an article listing numerous bars and restaurants around the city that are hosting “State of the Union viewing parties”, and the benefits of each location.

Clearly, this is the big time.  So, where will you be to watch Obama speak to the nation?  Will you be at your favorite bar or watch from the comforts of your own DC condo?  Let us know!
