DC Metro already has very strong ties already to Top Chef.  Here are some of the connections to the area:

Brian Voltaggio, whose brother Michael won the crown of Top …

Time is now to buy a DC Condo!

According to a study conducted by Ed Lazere of the DC Fiscal Policy Institute, DC rents are rising rapidly. Lazere’s report comes just a couple of weeks after Forbes named DC one of the top cities in America to go from renting to buying.
After examining DC housing data from the Census Bureau, Lazere wrote these observations in his report:

“DC’s low-cost rental stock has shrunk by more than one-third since 2000. The number of rental units with rent and utility costs of $750 or less fell from 69,000 in 2000 to …

Outside of Whole Foods

Yes, I did write about the snow yesterday, but really, is there ANYTHING else going on in DC this weekend? I haven’t seen a subject capture the hearts and minds of DC residents like this storm has in a very long time.
So, big ups to the 14th & You Blog who posted this ridiculous photo of outside of Whole Foods in Logan Circle.  The photo was taken around 8 pm of the line of people trying to get in to stack up on supplies before the blizzard hits.

I’m starting to …

DC Snowpocalypse II

As the hours pass it appears as though this snow storm is beyond the real deal.  It seems as though every time I check a weather update the predictions increase.  After hearing earlier in the week that we might get 9 inches of snow, and then hearing yesterday a foot or more might be on the way, the latest report is 18-24 inches.  Wow.  And to think I wrote three days ago that Spring was inching near.  Guess Puxatony Phil might be more legit than I thought.

So, as we prepare …

The Euclid Condominiums DC

So the word on the street is true: a DC Condo will soon be the feature of an episode by HGTV’s House Hunters.  The show, which profiles people looking for new homes, is one of my favorites.  The crew was spotted at The Euclid condominium building at 907 Euclid Street in NW.

The Euclid, which is located  in between the U Street Corridor, Columbia Heights, and Petworth communities, offers extra-large one bedroom condominiums.   Stone countertops, stainless steel appliances, and brilliant baths make the Euclid a great option for DC Condo buyers.  …

Our friends over at UrbanTurf have received an advance copy of the 2009 McWilliams Ballard real estate report.  The report, dubbed the “2009 Washington Metro Area Condominium Market Overview” provides an insider look at just that: the state of the DC Metro Condo Market.

According to UrbanTurf writer Will Smith’s article, certain DC Metro neighborhoods are selling condos at beyond rapid speed.
“The Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor, Logan Circle/U Street, and Mount Vernon Triangle are the most robust markets in the whole metropolitan area,” Smith writes.  ”There is already a condo shortage in the RB Corridor, and McWilliams|Ballard predicts that “it …
